Wellness visits are the cornerstone of your pet’s preventive healthcare plan. These visits allow us to establish a health baseline, monitor your pet for changes over time, and detect early signs of disease. Without the stress that can come with travel, novel environments, or the sights and smells of other strange animals, our mobile veterinarians are able to see your pet as they truly are — relaxed, curious, themselves. That makes our exams as accurate and personal as possible.

During a wellness visit, our veterinarians conduct a thorough physical and behavioral assessment, and talk with you about your pet, what you observe in their day-to-day life. Because we take the time to dig deep during these conversations, we can uncover subtle changes that might otherwise be brushed off as insignificant. We encourage you to ask questions and raise any concerns you might have. Together, we’ll identify ways to support your pet’s ongoing comfort, longevity, and joy.

With Iris Veterinary Care, wellness care is about more than just vaccines and parasite prevention, and your pet is more than a list of boxes to check off. It’s about partnership, prevention, and education — to give you the tools and confidence to recognize early signs of disease and act before serious problems arise. The earlier we find abnormalities, the better the opportunity for cure. The earlier we can educate you on what to look for as your pet ages the better we can support them together.

We treat wellness visits with the same level of detail and commitment as any other. Because when we spend more time with you, you get more time with them..

Wellness Visits

A person gently holds the front paws of a light brown dog, who looks up with a friendly expression. The outdoor scene takes place on sunlit tiles—perfect for a caring mobile vet visit or an in home euthanasia service.

Our veterinarians perform a comprehensive physical exam each time your pet visits with us. Wellness exams focus on detecting common health issues that may go unnoticed at home, such as dental disease, a heart murmur, or arthritis. We check your pet from nose to tail, including their eyes, ears, mouth, skin, and coat, as well as their cardiovascular, respiratory, and musculoskeletal systems. Our approach is thorough and compassionate, ensuring your pet feels comfortable and cared for without the stress of a clinic visit. The background is blurred with lush greenery, creating a calm setting—perfect for a caring vet or in home euthanasia when comfort matters most. Vaccines Vaccinations are essential for preventing infectious diseases that can cause serious health issues. By vaccinating your pet, you not only protect them but also help control the spread of diseases to other pets as well as humans in the community. Our mobile hospital offers a full range of core and lifestyle-based vaccines for pets and will work with you to develop a customized vaccine protocol—all from the convenience of your home. Parasite Prevention

Parasite prevention protocols protect your pet from the serious health issues caused by fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal worms. Effective prevention also reduces the risk of parasite transmission to other household pets and vulnerable family members, especially children. Our veterinarians assess each pet’s lifestyle to develop a year-round prevention plan—all in the comfort of your home.

Wellness Diagnostics

At Iris Veterinary Care we recommend comprehensive blood work panels for all pets at least once a year. Performing these tests each year allows us to monitor for subtle changes that can clue us into early detection of disease, before symptoms appear at home. It’s one of the quiet ways we can protect what matters most: their comfort, their longevity, and the life you share together.
